About Me
From a young age I have always had a fascination with food. I remember watching my parents and grandparents cook in the kitchen, constantly curious about what they were doing and wanting to know how they made such amazing food. As I continued to grow up I became more confident in the kitchen and began to make things with them or even on my own. The kitchen became a place I could be creative and express myself in a way I had never experienced before. |
Now that I am older, that curiosity has flourished into a passion for food and all things culinary. My friends and family come to me for advise and ideas and are always challenging me with some new culinary concoctions. I've made wedding cakes, catered large gatherings, and organized celebrations all bringing my own excitement and passion to everything I make. Several years ago I began working at a local bakery, which gave me opportunities to further my culinary knowledge even more. I learned new recipes, new flavor combinations and was encouraged to create my own dishes, while working with fresh and organic ingredients in a positive and nurturing atmosphere. While there I also obtained my ServSafe license, giving me knowledge about kitchen safety and kitchen management. |
I also recently had the opportunity to self-published my first cookbook, Buen Provecho! is a collection of recipes and stories from my time spent in Peru with a study abroad program in participated in through my college. It contains many of the staples of Peruvian cuisine and stories of how I personally encountered the food and some of my adventures exploring the culinary world of Peru. This book not only gave me the opportunity to share recipes from an amazing country that I have grown to love, but also gave people a glimpse into the culture of Peru and some of the experiences I had there. |
